INSIDE ET - R&D and Laboratory

Designing new products, especially customized ones, is their passion. Let us introduce our development department. Reinhard, our head of development and laboratory, knows what it takes to get from the idea to the final product.

Product development step by step

Once the requirements for a new product have been defined by our product management department or directly by the customer, the first step is to produce a design drawing. Then, a concept is created, which helps to evaluate the business case. If the economic viability is given, a more detailed design is made. The laboratory guides and monitors the entire development process. At the same time, external service providers, such as ÖVE, VDE or UL are involved.

Starting production

As soon as all necessary releases and approvals have been granted, industrialization begins in our production. This is where our in-house toolmaking department comes into play if tools can be manufactured internally.

Product designers

Every step, from planning to production, is coordinated and monitored by the respective product designer. Management skills are therefore a prerequisite for this job, as is a willingness to continuously develop.

Challenges

Product and material requirements are constantly evolving - electromechanical components are getting smaller and smaller, materials are changing, and so on. The development department generally works on 10 products at the same time, whereby customer-specific products are always designed in close coordination with the customer.
