Petra has been working in purchasing at Electro Terminal since 2016. In mid-2018, she took over as head of the department. A “baptism of fire” followed just one year later, when the Corona pandemic turned the world upside down.
Supply Chains
"The instability of supply chains became painfully apparent during the pandemic. The confluence of difficult framework conditions in many areas, but also the changed living situation of people worldwide, who, for example, invested their savings in remodeling their own homes instead of going on vacation, led to a shortage of raw materials. Only thanks to excellent, long-lasting partnerships with suppliers were we able to receive the material we needed for our production on time. The situation came to a head when many of our German suppliers were affected by the floods in the summer of 2021.
Preparedness
Although the situation is slowly returning to normal, based on the experience of recent years we are working even more vehemently to be able to supply our production with the required materials in any situation.
Variety
The Strategic Purchasing Department is quite small, with only two people, so our tasks are manifold. We procure raw materials as well as new machines and equipment. The flat hierarchies and the large scope for action make our work very enjoyable, even in challenging times."
