Inside ET - Toolmaking department

Mathias discovered his passion in Electro Terminal’s toolmaking department. Find out what makes the team and the tasks special—and how new apprentices will make a difference.

Getting Started

Mathias came in for a job trial during his last year of school and was immediately fascinated by toolmaking. In 2009, he started his apprenticeship as a toolmaking technician at Electro Terminal. The diverse tasks include mold making, the design and maintenance of punching tools, as well as the optimization and adaptation of these tools. Mathias also works on some of the assembly machines and processes various types of steel to improve their conductivity. He particularly enjoys the productivity in the department and the feeling of pride when a job has been completed successfully.

Team Spirit

By the way, Mathias is not the only apprentice who stayed on at Electro Terminal after his apprenticeship. Quite the opposite: Without exception, all employees in toolmaking have completed their apprenticeship at Electro Terminal. This guarantees a reliably high standard because every employee has gone through the same training.

But even outside working hours, the toolmaking team stands firmly together. Real friendships have formed and deepened in various activities.

Newcomers

In September, our toolmaking team will be expanded. We are proud to have two female trainees starting their apprenticeship as metal technicians.
