LBK 2/11 halogen-free
The new LBK 2/11 trunking system is now also available halogen-free, providing increased safety in case of fire. By avoiding halogens, dangerous gases and corrosion damage are prevented.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a type of plastic that is often used as an insulation material for power cables. It features excellent performance in terms of insulation strength, durability and flame resistance. Despite its fantastic insulation and flame-retardant properties, PVC has some disadvantages. When PVC burns, hydrogen chloride is released. If it mixes with water (e.g. fire extinguishing water or moisture from mucous membranes), hydrochloric acid is formed. In the event of a fire, this reaction represents an additional risk for humans and animals, and property damage may be exacerbated by corrosion.
Fire Hazard
For this reason, there is an increasing demand for installing halogen-free electrical systems, especially in public buildings such as airports, hospitals and schools.
Halogen-free Solution
As a solution for halogen-free trunking systems, Electro Terminal now also offers the new LBK 2 system in a halogen-free design. We do not use any halogen flame retardants in the insulation like bromine, fluorine, etc.

Goodbye EKL S
With quiet respect and a touch of nostalgia, we bid a final farewell to the EKL S terminal. For many years, it was a reliable fixture in control cabinets, junction boxes, and installations of all kinds. Unobtrusive in appearance, uncompromising in function – a terminal that was never loud, but always there.
